Hunting
Anybody doing any good. The deer are starting to move and so are the birds. Hoping the weather stays on a downward trend. John

What a beautiful morning. Wood ducks and geese. It was a beautiful sunrise watching a buck cross the field, with woodies decoying in the field. He will enjoy dinner with me one of these nights. Life is great. John

plagued!
I have seen buck after buck after buck this year, but all of them really small. I'd love to get a shot at a doe, but just can't seem to be in the right spot at the right time. It should just get better as we enter November. I haven't even been in a duck blind yet, and probably won't until the second split.
Later, Jeremiah

hunting
Yesterday saw a deer being chased by a coyote. The coyote is still smarter than the deer. The deer ran right up to me. It stopped and tried to figure out what I was. The coyote probally knew it. Helped a neighbor finish off a 8 pt. buck last night. He lucked out. His bolt was not exactly where you want it but on the exit it cut a main muscle in the rear leg.Gotta watch those quartering to you shots with a stringed stick. Anyways I was glad to help him out. I even helped him dress him out, most people probally wouldnt pull off their jacket and cut out the throat.Thats the warm part of the job. He was on cloud 9 after we got his deer hung. Boy that is a good feeling. Life is beautiful, John

Travis shot a ten pointer last evening. Classic quarttering away shot. Droped in 20 yards. He told it was not the best shot. How has a quartering away shot become a risky shot? It has more vitals available to hit then any other shot, and you dont have a shoulder in the way. It is a pretty decent deer. John
